Dr. Jim Walters, JBU professor emeritus and beloved teacher of Biblical studies, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12. He arrived at JBU in 1968 as the director of admissions and then joined the Division of Biblical studies in 1969. During his thirty-five years at JBU.
”Jim demonstrated leadership, warmth and courage to thousands of students who sat in one of his classes or interacted with him daily.
Jim counseled thousands of JBU students formally and informally and officiated hundreds of weddings. The marriage of Jim and Lynda, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 12 years after they were married, was an inspiration to those around them as they witnessed the Walters’ faith and trust in God’s plan and provision for their lives.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. (CT) at the John Brown University Cathedral of the Ozarks….” John Brown University posted on Facebook.
